Graduate Scholarships
for the College of Family and Consumer Sciences

CFCS Scholarship Funds Available

The College of Family and Consumer Sciences (CFCS) has available over $100,000 each year for new and continuing graduate students.

Awards range from $1,500 - $4,000, and are based mostly on academic accomplishments; however; some scholarships list other criteria (see item 16 in the recruiting scholarship application or item 17 in the continuing scholarship application). Successful applicants for continuing scholarships traditionally have a 3.7 GPA or better. Progress on the degree and research are also considered.

Who can apply?

Students who are being recruited to Iowa State University (ISU) and continuing CFCS graduate students are eligible to apply. Typically the continuing students who receive scholarships have a 3.7 GPA or better. Students must be enrolled in one of the graduate programs in the College of Family and Consumer Sciences.

New student scholarships are those scholarships offered to students who have not yet taken any graduate courses at ISU. Deadline for applications is February 1 of each year. Students chosen for a new student scholarship will be notified of their scholarships as soon as possible and no later than April 1.
Continuing student scholarships are offered to students who are currently or previously enrolled in a graduate program at ISU. Deadline for applications is March 1 of each year. Students chosen for the continuing student scholarships will be notified of their awards as soon as possible and no later than April 15.

Submit Financial Need Release Form if you checked 17a on the application for continuing student scholarships or 16a on the application for new student scholarships.

Use a 12 point font to type in your information.

As an email attachment: Send your application as an email attachment to your program area. Use your last name (surname) as the name of the file. Example: Miller.doc (You will be verifying the information on the application as if you have signed the application.)
